About Belza

Dive into the grunge aesthetic narrative of "Belza", where a young woman becomes a vigilante in the aftermath of a profound personal tragedy. The comic started through short stories, similar to "one-shot comics", which is now evolving into deeper story telling. Opting for brevity, the short tales introduced and established the diverse cast of heroes, villains, and other compelling characters, along with the narratives of "classic unlikely hero" I aspire to share.

As "Season 1" wraps up with the third part of Queen's Wrath, "Season 2" plans to go into more complex and mature storytelling, with more stakes, mystery, drama, villainous characters, and trials and tribulations that will push Belza to her limits. A new wave of stories that I'm excited to create are coming with other big changes also!

This passion project is growing fast, and you don't want to miss the growth of the Dancing Warrior.

Valencia Vasquez is a Latin American woman who owns and operates an international foods store in honor of her late husband. Enigmatic and seemingly standoffish, Valencia often comes across as introverted to those who don't know her well. However, beneath her reserved exterior lies a deeply passionate individual dedicated to hard work and the well-being of her community. Her store is more than a business; it's a beacon of cultural heritage and a gathering place for her neighborhood. Despite the personal loss that fuels her mission, Valencia channels her grief into a relentless drive to serve and uplift those around her, making her a quietly powerful presence in her community.

Detective Anthony Gudino is a key figure in the Union City Police Department (UCPD), specializing in cases involving the youth of Union City and high-profile crimes. After witnessing Belza's decision not to kill, Gudino saved her life following her battle with La Reina, becoming her confidant and somewhat friend. His support has helped improve Belza's standing with the UCPD. Dedicated to justice and upholding the law, Gudino is the only person who knows Belza's secret identity and understands her motivations of vigilantism. Beyond his professional role, he is a sponsor and father figure to Amiya, providing guidance and support.

Belza is the vigilante alter ego of Valencia Vasquez. Wielding her custom Duo Blades, Belza combines her skills in dancing and martial arts to combat the rampant crime in Union City. As a fierce and agile fighter, she moves with grace and precision, striking fear into the hearts of criminals. Despite her tough exterior, Belza's actions are driven by a deep love for her home and the people of Union City. Her unwavering commitment to justice and her community makes her a symbol of hope and resilience in the face of adversity.

Amiya Gelar is an orphaned teen who comes to work for Valencia as an extra hand in her store while Valencia recovers from her battle with La Reina. Though she's a big fan of science, she's a bigger fan of Belza, Amiya admires her courageous fights against crime, which make her feel safer and inspire her to contribute more to the community of Union City. Despite Valencia's initial opposition to having her work in the store, Amiya is determined to do her best, both in caring for the store and for Valencia herself.

Mia Diega's life began in the gritty underground fighting rings of Acapulco, Mexico, where she battled for survival, scraping by on coins and food scraps. Her existence was defined by relentless struggles until a fateful encounter with La Reina changed everything. Offered a chance to leave her homeless hell behind, Mia reluctantly agreed to join La Reina's mysterious plans, trading one form of hardship for another in Saint Louis. Her journey from destitution to an uncertain alliance with La Reina has left her grappling with newfound choices and ambitions. Despite her past as a fighter and her recent alignment with La Reina, Mia's true intentions remain shrouded in mystery.

Boa emerges as the alter ego of Mia Diega, donning a striking costume that reflects her newfound role as a formidable adversary. Equipped with a suit that amplifies her already formidable muscle power, Boa becomes a dangerous force in the ongoing conflict. Positioned by La Reina as a counterpart to Belza, Boa embodies the spirit of a luchadora, bringing her own style and prowess to Union City. Behind the mask, Boa's true intentions and loyalties remain enigmatic, adding layers of intrigue to her confrontations with Belza.

La Reina is the powerful crime lord who instills fear and embodies pure evil in Union City. Viewing the city as her "kingdom" to rule and destroy at will, La Reina is ruthless and malevolent. She has committed every conceivable crime countless times, leveraging her immense wealth, weapon trades, and a network of loyal followers who never question her authority. As Belza's arch-nemesis and the killer of Belza's family, La Reina represents the ultimate embodiment of corruption and terror, posing a constant and formidable threat to Union City.

Ronda Sleete, once a prominent scientist at West End University specializing in thermal dynamics, became a formidable adversary known as Deepfreeze. After creating a freeze utility suit, the university leaders attempted to exploit her invention and subsequently oust her. In retaliation, Ronda donned her suit and, in a fit of rage, destroyed all campus links to West End University while searching for her research. This destructive spree drew the attention of Belza, leading to a confrontation that marked Deepfreeze as one of Belza's most dangerous foes.

Aveena Sahota, or Mother Mind as her stage name suggests, has always been obsessed with being the smartest person in the world. Driven by this obsession, she created a talk show where she reads minds and reveals people's deepest secrets, gaining investors in the process. Her hidden secret is that her insights come from a widespread data smuggling ring she has run for years. Her downfall began when she was asked to reveal Belza's secret identity, making Belza one of her most hated enemies.

La Mime is a shapeshifting superhuman with a mysterious past. Similar to La Reina, she is a Colombian criminal, and uses her powers to amass fortunes. La Mime's ability to not only replicate someone's appearance but also mirror their movements and voice gives her a significant advantage in battles against Belza. This unique talent makes her a formidable and unpredictable adversary, adding another layer of complexity to Belza's fight against crime.

Mavis Hunts is the mechanical genius daughter of the CEO of the Hunts company. Despite her exceptional talent for mechanics, her father refuses to let her run the company due to her reckless choices. Fueled by anger towards potential funding companies, Mavis built a suit resembling the legendary and fearsome Headless Horseman and developed muscle weakening bombs to incapacitate her enemies. As the Headless Horseman, she becomes a formidable opponent for Belza, having designed the suit specifically to withstand Belza's blade attacks.
